Disability Support Worker
Access Lifecare are currently seeking support workers to assist in providing continues, flexible support to our clients who lives in a supported independent accommodation facility and in the community. Applicants should be passionate, confident, dependable and looking to take on a new challenge.
About the Role
This role includes supporting clients in our both community and Supported independent Living facility by providing them in-home support for personal care needs, domestic services support, transportation to appointments, and shopping assistance.
Key responsibilities include
Support participants with their daily living including supervise or assist with daily hygiene.
Domestic Assistance (including meal prep, light housework, washing/ironing etc)
Monitoring & Reporting health and/or behavioural changes and clients plan and documentation of progress notes.
Effective communication skill with Clients, their families and other healthcare professionals.
Maintaining privacy and dignity for clients.
Ability to work with limited supervision
Understanding of WHS and risk management
Requirements
ACT Working with Vulnerable People Card
Current First Aid certificate
Current police clearance
Certificate III in Aged Care and Disability or equivalent (desirable)
Current Australian Drivers License and access to a reliable vehicle
Willingness to travel within ACT and surrounds
Relevant work experience
You will also need to be dedicated, reliable and flexible and must be available Monday to Friday with the ability to work on weekends when required. We are currently offering casual positions, working variable hours and shifts.
